Good Times Had By All In P-Town

•July 25, 2009 • 2 Comments

Cars On Mars traveled down to Provincetown yesterday for the “ProvinceTown Rocks!” music festival. The guys started the night by melting faces over at Good Times pub.  Right from the start of the show, patrons of the bar immediately started rockin’ out and shakin’ booties. Even the Narragansett Beer promotions crew instantly became fans of Cars On Mars.  By the time Cars On Mars finished their set with the hit song “Roll On Two”, everyone was a fan. The F-Nice crew couldn’t keep up with demands for Cars On Mars EPs and t-shirts.

A half an hour later Cars On Mars went down the street and brought the house down at the Governor Bradford. Once again the crowd was blown away by the hard rhythms and soulful lyrics of Cars On Mars. Photographers immediatley rushed to stage to get a shot of our boys. With songs like “Big Sky”, “Modern Ground”, and “Ghost”, Cars On Mars brought tthe roof down. and sealed their spot as top act of the night.

Pray for Polanski, Cars on Mars, Vivian Darkbloom, and Kickdrum a huge hit at Great Scott

•July 14, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Last night at Great Scott in Allston MA was the best Monday concert I have ever been at. The place was packed, the bands were hot, and the sound was amazing.

The Event: Pray for Polanski’s release party for their new hit album The Death of Dennis Patrick Robbins. The Bands: Cars on Mars, Vivian Darkbloom, Kickdrum, and of course Pray for Polanski. The Air: Explosive.

Riding the wave of the future, Pray has released their album primarily as download cards that let their fans purchase music at the show and then download a Mp3 version of the album from F Nice Records’ website. This new type of album release is a big part of both PFP and F Nice’s concern about the environment and their visions for the technological growth of the music industry. There are also CDs of The Death of Dennis Patrick Robbins available for those who need them, and each CD comes with full access to download the album in Mp3 format as well.

If you have not heard the album yet check out the free Mp3 downloads of it on fnicerecords.com where there are 3 great tracks off the album that you can listen to online and download for play in your iPod, on your phone, or however else you like to take your Mp3s.

Also, if you are not in the Boston area you can check Pray for Polanski out during their August 2009 tour. Take a look at their Myspace for dates myspace.com/prayforpolanski

See you on the scene!

Pray for Polanski Finishes New Album

•July 10, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Last night I witnessed The Death of Dennis Patrick Robbins.

I did not of course see Dennis die, for that happened years ago, a casualty of social suicide. What I am referring to above is the private listening of Pray for Polanski’s spectacular new album that I sat for last night.

Maybe sat is not the right word because one cannot really remain still while being flooded with the body-bobbing tempos and heart-throbbing guitar, bass, and drums that explode out of this masterpiece. The music on The Death of Dennis Patrick Robbins flows smoothly from beginning to end in a way that made me smile all the way down to my toes. It’s an album to which one can jump up and dance or sink deep into their seat and enjoy thoroughly either way.

Lyrically Pray for Polanski’s new tracks are mind blowing. The Death of Dennis Patrick Robbins is filled with entrancing stories and wrenching emotion, all of which is beautifully song. Aviv shows off his fantastic vocal range across the whole album, and Anne Warnock’s singing could break even a eunuch’s heart.

The Death of Dennis Patrick Robbins will be officially released on this coming Monday, July 13th, with a party at Great Scott that night starting at 9pm. The album will be available there in CD and downloads card formats Bands and fans alike will all be there to celebrate with lots of FREE GOODIES to go around.

See ya at Great Scott on Monday…..

•June 26, 2008 • Leave a Comment

That’s right folks, our new awesome website is now live. There you can learn all about F Nice Records and what we can do for you. Some of the great new features of the site are:

  • Online booking of our rehearsal studio. Now you can schedule practice sessions online for times as soon as the next day.
  • Great information about the artist development and merchandising services we offer.
  • Our philosophy about the rapidly changing music industry and how to protect yourself from losing the rights to your creations.
  • Free software tools. Powerful graphics and audio applications for Window, Mac, and Linux that will help any aspiring artist or band.

In case you have not heard of us, F Nice Records is an independent record label that aids artists in their rise to fame. We provide low cost solutions to take your music to the next level and beyond. Services we provide include printing merchandise to represent and support yourself, a rehearsal studio to hone your art, online and real-world promotion, gig booking, and much more.

If you live in the greater Boston Massachusetts area, especially Allston Rock City, you should most definitely go to our website and check it out. Just head right over to www.fnicerecords.com and you’ll find everything you need to improve your musical career.

Even if you already know us and have practiced at our rehearsal studio you should still go check out the new site. We will be doing all the booking for the Boston rehearsal studio online now, which will help you get in the practice time that your band needs to become internationally famous.

Then there’s the free software. We know that artists need to spend every penny they’ve got on gear and promotions and maybe even some things to make them a little more “creative”. That’s why we help you get software to create flyers and other graphics like a sweet design for T shirts and stickers, edit photos, and record and edit your music all for free. It’s much easier to get famous when you’ve got professional tools by your side, and you don’t even need to be a customer of ours or use our other services in any way to get all the software for free.
